HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. 22nd birthday... somehow not nearly as exciting as my 21st. Still happy to be alive, though.

Figured this warranted a journal entry. Shame it can't be all pretty and such, but hey, I can't justify paying money for a Premium dA account right now. Kinda lacking in funds. Maybe if I can get a job this summer or something...

I read the first book of the Hunger Games and saw the movie this past week. I reaaaally loved both. I'm waiting anxiously to get my birthday present from my dad (the nook simple touch) so I can read the second and third books. I also thought the costuming and the casting for the movie was good. It was a really exciting movie. I want to see it again.
I'm still reading the Pillars of the Earth. I promise its actually really good to read. It just happens to be over 1,000 pages and I happen to not have a lot of time. I'm on page 600 or so, though. If anyone is interested in the politics and building of a cathedral in 11th century England, you'd enjoy it. (I know, I just architecture nerd-ed it up)

Trying to get back into the whole art thing, though school is busy as anything. I'm uploading some stuff from Rome, sketches and additional architectural works will be coming soon. I promise.
Turns out my current studio project takes a priority at this point. Silly deadlines.

I don't usually know what to say in these things. Having nothing there has been bothering me, so here goes.

I've been feeling really artistic lately, and am really going to try to get back into drawing and painting (probably watercolor) again. I've been having an urge to sketch more stuff from Rome and watercolor my existing sketches, so hopefully they'll appear on here eventually. I'm trying to compile a travel journal of all of my experiences and such.

I'm in a bit of a rambling mood, really. This week has been kinda strange. It's been snowing a lot, which is weird for me since I've been in Rome for forever with nice weather. The whole SOPA thing today is really quite troubling... I don't think it's going to help piracy. I think its just going to punish people who don't deserve it and destroy our right to freedom of speech. Bah. I suppose the end of the world (end of an era) coming in 2012 isn't so far off after all...

I think my current inspiration is going to be something London or British related ... because I'm weird and I'm slightly obsessed. Maybe Doctor Who. I'm obsessed with that too. (shut up, Julie. stop shaking your head at me) It also distracts me from issues like the whole needing to get a real job soon and pretending that the job market for architecture doesn't apparently suck...

I need to stop rambling now. Blah.
